Hey guys! I thought it’d be fun to start a series giving you a tour of our small and cozy condo. We started looking for a place to buy (in San Diego) in September of 2014 (!). At first, we thought we might just get a studio to come to on the weekends, and we quickly got excited with the idea of moving to California permanently. We found our condo—after nearly a year of searching—in South Orange County just a couple weeks after A proposed. While they’re are some home improvement projects we want to tackle eventually, we feel settled and happy with things as they are at the moment!
What a better place to start the tour than the living room? 🙂
As we enter our home sweet home, we’re greeted by a photo wall, which honestly, was A’s idea. I wasn’t on board with it in the beginning, but eventually hung all the frames and am quite happy with how it looks! We have a mix-match of photos (and frames) he had before we met, I had before we met and of course memories we’ve made since being together.
We looooove the boat! In fact, we have the other half of it in the guest room. The guy we bought it from said it was used in China to put fish and fishing gear in.
From the entry way looking in:
I love interior decorating! It was my goal to create an open and functional living space—that was super homey and inviting— while adding small items that reflect our personalities and lifestyles, without making it seem cluttered.
I don’t love the liquor cabinet (A had it before we met) and would eventually like to get an Indian antique sideboard and hang the glasses from shelves (and actually move it closer to the kitchen). Here’s my Pinterest board for some ideas of what I’m talking about: Pinterest. I’d also love to rip the carpet out and install some type of eco-friendly, dog-proof hardwood floor. (Hey, Daddy, can you tackle that? 😉 ) We’d also like to build a mantle to hang over the fireplace. With time, right?
I hope you enjoyed the first part of this series! I plan to do this every other week until you see most of our casa, which honestly, won’t take long! 🙂
